Campus Principal
Mitchell Crowley
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the Yarra Valley on a property where my parents encouraged being outside and exploring the local area. Through adolescence a strong drive to participate in all things sport and outdoors led me to become a secondary school physical education teacher. I was grateful to be presented with many opportunities in my teaching career in mainstream schooling that I tackled with excitement, such as Director of Sport and an Assistant Principal at a large K-12 College.
The concept of working with year 9 students to foster a love for the outdoors, build their leadership capacity and help them overcome the challenges faced in this specifically tailored program makes me jump out of bed every day. I truly believe this program can be a life changing experience and gives students the skills and confidence to become their best selves.
A common phase I religiously quote is “Living the Dream”. For me to work at the School for Student Leadership located in Don Valley and be associated with such a passionate, dedicated, and skilful group of staff epitomises this quote.
When not on campus, I am spending time at home in the Yarra Valley with my beautiful wife and daughter, racing motocross or downhill mountain biking.
